C172 G-EGCD operated by Avro Flying Group out of Liverpool (EGGP).

If G-EICK is based at Cork, you might imagine G-EGCD would be based at Woodford, and you'd be wrong.

It is however registered to a trustee of the Avro Flying Group that is based at Stockport in Cheshire, England. Stockport is not that far from the closed airfield at Woodford, EGCD. A former airfield operated by the Avro aircraft manufacturer, that used to build aircraft there, the Avro 504K, the Anson, the Lancaster, and the Vulcan. It's also "famous" as an airfield where I used to fly patterns when based at EGCC, just a few miles away, since I could do that there in peace and quiet after a 5 minute flight from EGCC - this was back in the late 70s/early 80s, I might add, back when EGCC still had 2 runways, but they were 06/24 and 10/28. Patterns were always flown to the south of Woodford so as not to stray too close to traffic at Manchester International, where I was based. Happy days...

G-EGCD tends to stay quite close to Liverpool, often making small 3-sector x-country flights.
